Seroprevalence studies
The seroprevalence rate gives an estimate of the proportion of cats infected at some stage of their life. Such studies suggest that B. bronchiseptica infection is widespread with seroprevalence ranging from 24% (Hoskins et al 1998) to 87% (McArdle et al 1994) depending on the population under consideration. Two studies are reported here in detail including a study performed in Liverpool, UK and another in the Netherlands.
